Training for masters is up to you. All training will be held at Bruce Pryor Field. For navigation here is the Google maps location.
We train with the lower grades of the club. Beyond the mid week game if you feel a desire to take your masters hockey to the next level of fitness or skill then you might like to consider joining the lower grades (3-7) in their training. It is not compulsory however for those inclined it is a great mid week workout that is sure to benefit your masters game.
If you would like to join training then join us on Thursdays 20:30 – 22:00 at Bruce Pryor Hockey Field.
Incidentally we also have some masters playing weekend grade hockey so this fitness definitely comes in handy.
Sydney Uni masters are passionate about representative hockey under Sydney Masters Hockey Association. Sydney Uni actively participates in representative hockey so if you have , or think you might have, an interest in another level of competitive hockey then join our representative cohort in rep hockey. Competitions are run in Over 35s, 40s, 45s, 50s, 55s and 65s. This is followed by national championships in Sep/Oct.
If you think you might have an interest with our other Sydney Uni masters then contact: masters@suhc.asn.au
Sydney Uni masters play in the Sydney Masters Hockey Association (SMHA). Sydney Uni is competitive across four grades of this Sydney competition. The breadth of our teams means you can plays in the higher grades with people of superb skill and pedigree or you can be a social, competitive or beginner in the lower grades.
One of the great joys of masters hockey is watching returning players rekindle that hockey desire and slotting back into that competitive mindset of playing challenging hockey at a masters level. With th depth of masters hockey at Sydney Uni ther ewill be one of our four competitions to suit you.
If you are new to hockey or returning we will help you find the right team for your abilities.
SUHC has a fantastic array of casual, social and formal functions for teams and the club throughout the year. The masters group of men take advantage of these great club events. Additionally the masters enjoy, BBQs, formal dinners, trivia nights, university games (yes for masters), formal presentation nights and team dinners. We always have great camaraderie and fun amongst ourselves and the wider club community. One of the best kept secrets of masters hockey is the off field social events both formal and informal. Rarely a game would be executed without some form of casual get together afterwards. In many ways this absolutely solidifies the strong bond of the masters hockey community.
