Registration

Registration is now open for the 2023 season. Read the instructions carefully. There are two fees payable, the Sydney Uni fee and the Hockey New South Wales fee. Remember our discounted early bird rates end 17 March!

Every player must be registered before taking the field. If you are new to the club, email the Women’s VP Sarah before registering at womenshockey@suhc.asn.au

2023 Trials and Pre-season

Preseason training and trials for the 2023 season are now complete and our nine women’s teams are fully subscribed. If you are still looking for a women’s team this season please email our Women’s VP Sarah at womenshockey@suhc.asn.au to be placed on the waitlist.

Welcome and Join Us

Welcome to Sydney Uni Hockey Club! As one of Sydney’s largest women’s hockey clubs, we can cater for all players both competitive and social in one of our nine teams.

We would love to have you join us for the 2023 season (season beginning early April 2023). Everyone is welcome at SUHC, you don’t have to be a student of the university.

Training Times

Trainings are held on weeknights at our Bruce Pryor Field in Lidcombe.

  • 1s and 2s: Tuesdays 8.30pm to 9.30pm and Wednesdays 6.45pm to 8.30pm
  • 3s: Tuesdays 7pm to 8.30pm
  • 4s and 5s: Tuesdays 7pm to 8.30pm
  • 6s: Thursdays 8.30pm to 10pm
  • 7s: Mondays 7pm to 8pm
  • 8s and 9s: Wednesdays 8.30pm to 10pm

Competitions

Our women’s teams play in two competition leagues that are both played on Sundays. Our top six teams play in the Sydney Metro League (starting 2 April 2023) organised by the Sydney Women’s Hockey League (SWHL).

Our 7s, 8s and 9s teams play in the Sydney North Women’s Hockey Association (SNWHA) competition. Games for both leagues are played at turfs across the Sydney Metropolitan area.

Social

At Sydney Uni Hockey Club we believe it is important to have fun both on and off the field. Our players enjoy a range of casual, social and formal functions yearly including New Players Night, BBQs, trivia, Uni Games, derby days and our end of year formal presentation.
