We are pleased to announce that the Sydney Masters 3rd grade competition trophy (Masters Division) has been named the Michael Irby Premiership Cup.

This is a fabulous recognition of the commitment of our club legend, Michael “Bott” Irby, to this competition.   Bott has been heavily involved with Sydney Masters for over 20 years. He has been a player with Sydney Masters representative teams every year since becoming age eligible in 2001. He has assisted with the selection of numerous Sydney Masters representative teams to compete at State championships. Mick has also been a Sydney representative on the NSW State selection panels for over 10 years and has been a national selector at the Australian Masters Championships on three occasions.

Michael was elected as a Life Member of Sydney Masters in 2015 and has also received a 10 year service award from NSW Masters Hockey.

At a club level, Bott has played over 300 games of Masters and been a Team Co-ordinator in various grades for over 10 years in the Sydney Masters Competition. Amazingly, Bott is approaching 1,000 games for the club.
