Invitation to play

Welcome to Sydney Uni Hockey Club! We would love to have you join us, new players, old players, school girls, uni students and mums! We have hockeyroos and social players, so SUHC is a club for anyone looking to have a great time and play a sport with their friends and achieve their sporting goals. 

Anyone and everyone can play for Sydney Uni. You don't have to be at uni. Join us and for any enquiries contact Jacinta at 


2019 Trials

Trials for the women’s premier squad will be ongoing throughout February and March. Please contact Director of Hockey Scott Barker if you would like to attend squad training and be considered. 

Trials for all other grades will take place on 24 February 2019 and 3 March 2019 at Bruce Pryor Hockey Field. This will involve both skills and games. 

This year we require all Grades 3-10 to register for trials prior to the trials. This allows for a structured trial assessment and communications with you during the trial period. Register for trials now or no later than 22 Feb.

24 February 2019 
10:30-1pm: grades 6-10 + new players 
1pm BBQ 
1-3:30pm: grades 3-5 + new players 
3 March 2019 
12-2:30pm: Grades 3-5
2:30-5pm: Grades 6-10 
New Players: please attend the 3 March sessions if you cannot make 24 Feb.

Divisions We Play In

SUHC covers the full range of abilities from our lower divisions all the up to our premier league teams in ML1 and ML2:

All players can be accommodated. If you think you might want to start or return to hockey we have a team to suit you.

for Uniforms


Sydney Uni women play in two  competitions. The first is the higher level Sydney  Metro  League (ML) run by Sydney Women's Hockey League (SWHL). Sydney Uni is one of the most competitive teams in the hot NSW competition.

The second competition is run by Sydney North Women's Hockey Association (SNWHA) and caters for all our other teams, both competitive play and social hockey.

If you are new to hockey we will help you find the right team for your abilities.

The Grand Finals occur in mid September.

Training Times

Training will commence week of 26th of February.

The SWHL competition is set to begin on the 31stMarch 2019. The draw will be updated soon and available via the SWHL website. 

The Sydney North Competition will start on TBC  and the draw will be available on Sydney North Websites.

Social Activities

SUHC has a fantastic array of casual, social and formal functions for teams and the club thoughout the year. Check out our Social page. Additionally the club enjoys: a new player night, BBQs, tours around the local Glebe and Newtown establishments, formal dinners, trivia nights, university games, formal presentation and club dinners and derby days (great hockey, food, drinks and fun).

Uniforms and Gear 

Uniforms are available for purchase from the Just Hockey store at Sydney Olympic Park. 

It is important that before you purchase a shirt you check what numbers your team members have so you do not purchase the same one.
